Ruby, RubyGems Updates, misc fixes

New esprit release posted just now with the following changes:

  • Added: configurable per-account Urchin profile allowance
  • Fixed: new MySQL build renames RPMs to MySQL-*-community
  • Fixed: last login incorrectly displayed with new accounts
  • Fixed: unable to remove custom logs
  • Changed: upgraded RubyGems to 0.9.5
  • Changed: upgraded Ruby to 1.8.6-p111

Gnax Emergency Maintenance – 12/7

In case you are running into spotty connection quality, be aware that Gnax is working on replacing a supervisor card in the Cisco router…

this is cisco related – we are going to go ahead and replace this supervisor card with an upgraded card we have ready to go.

we are going to replace our other router card tomorrow with an upgraded version.

this upgrade will happen in the next few hours and there will be some limited outages that are intermittent.

it will only be during the time that the card is swapped and the routers get their tables back.

Full thread is available over on their forums. Problems cropped up around 11:40 PM EST (-0500 GMT) but subsided by 12:05 AM. Some users are still experiencing problems and if you are one of them, then chances are it’s due to the emergency maintenance.

Network Maintenance on Saturday at 2 AM

The main uplink switch will be replaced with a hot-spare on Saturday, December 8th at 2 AM EST (-0500 GMT).  All servers will lose connectivity temporarily for 5 – 10 minutes as the new switch is installed and ports reconnected.
